Founder, Ascendea
Twenty years in every seat a growing business has.
Troy MacLean built and sold five businesses, and worked with 78 more. He's held every senior commercial role a $2–5M business needs, and three of them at one company at the same time. Ascendea, and the Ascend system, is what that came to.
The seats
The seats the methodology came from.
Ascend works because it was built by someone who has actually held the seats. Across twenty years, Troy has been the Sales Manager, the Performance Consultant, the Head of Performance Marketing, the Managing Director, the Fractional CFO, and the Chief Revenue Officer.
Three of those, Head of Performance Marketing, Fractional CFO, and Chief Revenue Officer, were held at White Key Marketing at the same time. One company. Three senior commercial roles. Revenue, finance, and growth strategy, run from one head, at once. That's the integration claim, and it isn't theory. It's a job Troy did.

The career
Twenty years. Five businesses built and sold.
Troy started, built, and sold five businesses before Ascendea. Along the way he worked across franchise networks, direct-to-consumer brands, trades and building businesses, and marketing agencies, 78 businesses in total, moving more than $350M in revenue between them.
The pattern across all of it was the same: the businesses that scaled were the ones that stopped depending on their owner. The ones that stalled were the ones that couldn't. Ascend is the system for getting a business from the second group to the first.
Why Ascend exists
The methodology and the man are the same thing.
After enough years and enough businesses, the moves stopped being a feel for it and started being a system. The same five areas, every time. The same order, more often than not. Troy wrote it down because a system you can hand over is worth more than a skill only one person has. That's Ascend. It's also the wedge made personal: the methodology is built so the business outperforms the consultant, the same way it's built so a business outperforms its owner.
The body of work

It's the same diagnostic Troy uses with every business he works with.
